Hasbro. Titans Return – Kup.

A little while back I was on a work trip down in Norfolk. Now as it goes down in Norfolk happens to be a certain Kapow! toys.  For quite the while I’d been threatening poor Andy with a drop in should I be close by and this trip was the time it finally came together.

I pulled up and marvelled at the sign, I even took a picture! Then I met Andy. My first impressions were quite simply, how big are this guys arms?! They are as big as my thighs and I’m quite chubby! Then I was thinking, god he must be thinking why is this weirdo staring at my arms… I guess lifting boxes of heavy pure joy all day every day is going to have a knock-on effect….

Anyway we got to chatting and yeah, he’s just a super guy really. I must have held him up from moving his many boxes of Phoenix for about an hour, thinking about it, it wasn’t Phoenix, I was picking up my Phoenix, I think the boxes were maybe Striker Noir? Anyway, lots of heavy boxes!  before the phone rang and as all other staff were out he attended to it.

While he was on the phone dealing with what sounded like a life or death plastic emergency, I basically had a really bloody good nose around. Honestly, the place is basically a little slice of heaven to folk like me. Toys everywhere!!! While having said nose on the counter I came across a lose Kup figure. A few months prior I had decided that I wasn’t going to buy him, just didn’t look like a Kup I wanted.

So I pick this figure up and I’m fiddling with it and something occurred to me, he’s great! I liked the colours, the grumpy face, the guns, whereas I had coldly decided he wasn’t for me in a picture from a while back, here I was sat fiddling with him and thinking to myself what a great little figure.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not sold on Titans Returns gimmick of obsessively making everyone a head master, although it’s the thing of the brand, I think it’s a little much. But Kup here, well, he’s fun and surely that’s the point?

So I’m stood there fiddling and Andy finishes his call comes out, points out he was missing a wheel on his leg and said I could give him a home if I wanted. Bargain. If anything the missing wheel to me gives him a charm that is very Kup. We chatted a little more then hit the road for my near 6-hour drive home.

I picked up Kup again the next day, just to fiddle about with him some more. Kup currently lives in a box with all my other Titans Return figures as I am currently having some major space issues, i.e. I don’t have any, which is a shame as I think he’s great.

6 Cy-gars out of 10.
